Butcombe Group named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work
We are really thrilled to announce that we have been recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025, a prestigious accolade celebrating exceptional workplace culture, employee satisfaction, and forward-thinking leadership.
Sunday Times Best Places to Work Winners
The award honours and celebrates the UK’s top employers and highlights the best workplaces in the hospitality sector. To qualify we had to score well across six different areas of the business. These were;
– How we reward and recognise our team,
– Instilling Pride,
– Information Sharing,
– Empowering our teams
– The wellbeing of our team members
– Job Satisfaction
Our strategy has continually focussed on our most important asset – our people. All our colleagues are as individual as our pubs with no two being the same and we continue to invest in training and development for all colleagues, ranging from wine champions to apprenticeships, and our very own internal learning management system.
Cat Moseley, Butcombe Group People Director, said: “We are delighted to get this recognition as one of the best places to work in the hospitality sector. At Butcombe, we’ve always believed that great beer and food, and fantastic pubs start with brilliant people. This award is a testament to the dedication of every member of the team, and to our ongoing investment in a culture that values and supports them. It’s great to get the recognition for all the work the team have put into supporting our teams. We have put a lot of focus on engaging with our teams and listening to their feedback, which has allowed us to make a number of significant changes across the business to build our culture and continually to support and reward our brilliant teams. “
Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, said: “The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list is the UK’s biggest survey of employee engagement, compiled in partnership with workplace expert WorkL. Spanning a raft of sectors and located throughout the UK, the organisations in this year’s list range from innovative start-ups with a handful of employees to big multinational corporations staffed by thousands. These organisations know that happy employees are the superpower helping them thrive.”
