Join us during Community Week from 9th – 15th November as we come together to support the Wallace & Gromit Appeal for Bristol Children’s Hospital and raise funds for local nine-year-old Barney and his family.
Barney’s Story
Barney should be spending his days at school, playing football and enjoying time with his friends. Instead, he is currently undergoing treatment for a brain tumour and faces a long journey ahead. Following treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Barney is now preparing to begin chemotherapy at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
With Barney’s parents by his side every step of the way, the financial pressures on the family have inevitably grown. In response, the Winchcombe community has rallied around them, raising funds to help with everyday living costs and provide support during this incredibly challenging time.
The generosity shown so far has been remarkable. Fundraising efforts have included football tournaments, charity head shaves, comedy nights and community events, all organised by friends, family and local supporters. Earlier this year, our very own Karyn and the team at The Lion Inn helped organise Barney’s Funday, which, thanks to incredible community support, raised an amazing £8,080 for Barney and his family.
What's On during Community Week
Luxury Hamper Raffle
In the two weeks leading up to Community Week, we’ll be selling raffle tickets for a luxury hamper packed with generous donations from our team and local supporters. Every ticket sold will help raise vital funds for Barney and his family.
