Constructed over 4,000 years ago, the purpose and significance of Stonehenge remain a subject of speculation. It is believed to have served as a ceremonial site, possibly related to astronomical observations or religious rituals. The stones themselves, some weighing up to 25 tons, were likely transported from quarries over long distances. Perhaps this air of mystery is why Stonehenge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts millions of visitors each year, captivating them with its ancient allure.
