Saatchi Gallery was founded by Charles Saatchi in 1985 with the mission of bringing contemporary art to the forefront. Originally housed in North London, the gallery has moved several times, reflecting its dynamic nature and the evolving art world. In 2008, it found a permanent home in the Duke of York’s Headquarters in Chelsea, a stunning location that provides a fitting backdrop for its eclectic and often provocative exhibitions.
Saatchi Gallery’s impact on the art world is profound. It is renowned for launching the careers of numerous young artists, offering them a platform to reach a wider audience.
