Start/End Point: The Cottage Inn, Baltic Wharf
Directions: From the pub, head along the Bristol Harbourside Walk around the Floating Harbour and Cumberland Basin. Follow the waterside paths past historic docks, Underfall Yard surroundings and along Prince Street Bridge before looping back into Baltic Wharf.
Estimated Time & Difficulty: ~1 hour, easy.
Highlight: Flat, scenic harbourside trail with iconic city views and plenty of spots to stop for photos or a water break for your dog. Dogs are welcome on this route (lead recommended near the water).
Historic Docks & River Avon Loop
Start/End Point: The Cottage Inn, Baltic Wharf
Directions: Set off down the harbour front toward the Historic Docks. Keep your dog on lead as you stroll up one side and, if you like, take the small ferry across (dogs travel free) before walking on toward the River Avon edge and back around toward the pub.
Estimated Time & Difficulty: ~1 – 1.5 hours, easy.
Highlight: A mix of waterside paths and city dock atmosphere with views toward Brunel’s Suspension Bridge — great if you want a varied urban walk.
Sparke Evans & Greville Smyth Park Walk
Start/End Point: The Cottage Inn, Baltic Wharf
Directions: From the pub, stroll along the harbourside toward the Sparke Evans Park section of the Avon Walkway, then continue toward Greville Smyth Park beside the River Avon. Explore riverside paths and open green spaces before returning along the harbour.

Highlight: A pleasant mix of riverside strolls and parkland — lovely on a dry day and a bit quieter than the main harbour path.
