The Welldiggers Arms offers 14 sumptuous ensuite bedrooms, located within the pub and a separate annexe. Nestled in the heart of rural West Sussex we are the perfect location for a country escape, or exploring the South Downs.
We’re a true country pub, serving local real ales, spirits and cider as well as fresh, locally-sourced British cuisine.
More than just a visual delight, West Dean Gardens offers a glimpse into the annals of time. With roots tracing back to the 11th century, the estate has witnessed centuries of history. The gardens, however, blossomed under the careful stewardship of the renowned horticulturist and gardening visionary, Edward James, in the early 20th century. Today, they are lovingly preserved by the Edward James Foundation, continuing a legacy of botanical excellence.
West Dean Gardens boasts a meticulously crafted design that seamlessly blends formal elegance with natural charm.
