Butcombe Group is an award-winning, market leading business consisting of over 120 pubs and inns with around 400 rooms, stretching from Mayfair to St.Aubin, Jersey, and employing over 1,800 people. The estate of premium local pubs and inns, each with its own distinctive style and character, is focused on driving appeal to local communities and acting as a destination for customers countrywide and internationally.
The Group also consists of our Brewing and Drinks businesses. Based in the Southwest, Butcombe Brewing co, one of the original craft brewers, has a state-of-the-art brewery in Wrington, Bristol and a multi-million-pound distribution and bottling plant in Bridgwater, Somerset, supplying its range of award-winning beers, including Butcombe Original, Tall Tales Pale Ale and Goram IPA Zero. With a heritage in the Channel Islands stretching over 150 years, Liberation Quality Drinks division has a brewery, retail, Free-Trade and wholesale business supplying the Channel Islands with its award-winning beers and an extensive range of wines and spirits.
Our newly launched Butcombe Boutique Inns offering provides guests with a unique, personalised and home from home stay in some of the most desirable locations in the UK. Initially launching with The George Inn, Norton St Philip and The Swan Inn, Rowberrow, and The Langford Inn, the Butcombe Boutique Inns offering will be steadily rolled out across more sites, with the objective of becoming the leading operator of premium rooms in the South of England.
For the year ended 27 January 2024, the Group reported total revenue of £144.4m, an increase of 20% versus the same period FY23. Butcombe Group is a multi-award-winning pub and brewery company having this year alone won Best Managed Pub Company 51+ sites at the Publican Awards and Pub Chef of the Year Award at the prestigious International Salon Culinaire competition, alongside achieving status as a Top 10 UK Cask ale. The George Inn also won pub of the year at the National Pub & Bar Awards. Butcombe was voted winner of the prestigious Catey Pub and Bar award for its food offering. According to the latest CGA data, Butcombe Original became the leading cask beer in the South West in 2024 and Tall Tales Pale Ale is one of the fastest growing keg ales in the South West.
